Sorry. My bad for not explaining entirely.
Really, it wasn't an exploit UNTIL they stated it was accidental. Until then, it was a legitimate deal.
Nobody that bought the items *Knew* that it was accidental, but when they did find out, and the reverse was announced, how many came online to complain?
The devs have apologized, so just FORGIVE THEM!
If you IRL best friend/BF/Gf Screwed up, would you keep that in their face forever? I'd bet all Bill Gates money that'd they never want to see you again.
I for one, am going to accept Gaile's apology, and kiss the floor.
And play Halo...

I know one lady that is upset over it as she does not have a lot of time to get Fame, and it is hell keeping pace with the kiddies that have all day to earn it. To lose the few good hours out of a busy three weeks to a glitch, I would not bet on there being a round two for my lady anytime soonish.

I am pleased by how ANet chose to handle this. . .if, and that is an if, it works out exactly as they plan. A full and complete server rollback will anger some people, but it was the right thing to do for the long run.
Oh, you will have the people who say it wasn't needed. These are the folks who would have made millions. You have people complaining about having to do a mission over again. None of the current missions are that hard, and I am sorry you wasted your time, but you can just do it again. I feel badly for those who will lose a rare drop, or a win in GvG, or a lot of fame from an HA run. But this had to be done.
Whether the first reset was intentional or an accident does not matter. ANet obviously sees the reset as a mistake, but they could not know it would be a mistake until players had time to take it in. Now, the second time, they know. They know that a huge portion of the player base gets burned when something like this happens and they don't want that.
So, to ANet. We (the players) often yell at you for this or that nerf, or for adding this or that item. We complain constantly about AI problems and rank, and people will complain about the rollback as well. But, you have my support in this, and the support of many other players as well.

The thing that bug sme the most about this occurence is not that I couldn't play when I wanted to but the German error message on the log in screen. It's the grammatical equivalent of genocide. Whoever translated that should be... well, not disciplined. But severely frowned upon.

Man i dont care if they rollbacking but im pretty pissed about the following.
-that it interrupted my guilds 4-0 winning streak
-the murssat skin hornbow that ive been looking for a such long time its now gone
-The fact that in my only free time i cannot play GW, and i have to wait for them to finish the rollback
-that i was acctualy a fool and spent the time buying over 150 shards, 30 rubies , 21 shappires, 2 superior absorbtion runes, 11 superior vigor
BUT!! Im pretty happy for the following reasons
-that i will get my gold(platinum) back(THEY BETTER!!!)
-the fact that the game is not ruined
-Everyhting is going to be just fine
-That Anet will learn from this mistake and in the future it wont happen again
-AND THAT WE CAN PLAY AGAIN IN A FEW HOURS!!!!
PS: I know people lost some nice items, fame and time. What can we do?

Let me clarify that "exploiting" the trader reset wasn't necessarily intentional. We don't mean to paint everyone with a dark brush of evil doing. For some players, perhaps for the vast majority, they saw low prices and bought. I have to say, though, that if I had been in the game and seen those prices, my first thought would have been to check the website and when I didn't see major news about an intended change to the game economy, or an overall financial reset, I would have figured something just wasn't right.
It's human nature to react impulsively to "opportunities" like the trader glitch presented. It's noble to report them, which is what some players did, and we're grateful for that. Had we had earlier reports, we might have prevented the need for a reset, but by the time we learned of the situation, we were forced to do the roll-back.
Several months ago we had a much smaller-scale incident, but the numbers were low and the gains relatively minimal. We did not do a roll-back, thinking that it would be a kindness to avoid a roll-back when so few had exploited and when the damage to the economy was so small. This time we did not have the luxury of that same decision.
Thanks again for understanding the need, and for supporting the roll-back.

I can definitely understand the frustration caused, and so can everyone at ANet too. But you (and all of us) have to realize that things like this happen. I've played many online games in the past few years, so when I hear there's a rollback, I shrug it off. You just come to accept it. Look at it this way, Guild Wars has been out almost a year, and this is the first time they've had to do anything this drastic (to my knowledge.)
ArenaNet does a great job, and they really don't get ENOUGH credit. Sure, people crowd around Gaile and The Frog, but people flame them too. Sure, people post on the forums saying how much they love the game, but there are twice as many (at least) threads going on about how disappointed/bored they are. Sure, many people give ANet credit for trying to keep PvE/PvP environments fresh enough so they don't become ridiculously redundant, but there are probably 5-10 people flaming them for skill changes to every 1 person thanking them for it.
What they do, they do for us. Mistakes happen, and we have to keep in mind that ArenaNet will make mistakes from time to time. We, the players, will make mistakes too, though! We just have to realize that making a mistake is not intentional, and that ArenaNet is not out to get us personally when they need to fix something.
Does the rollback hurt? Sure it does, I know I'm not affected as much as others, but I'm aware that others can be very affected. Keep in mind that ArenaNet does not sit there going "haha, let's see you get that perfect fellblade NOW, you punk!" They made a mistake, they apologized, they're fixing it, and they're returning the wonderful game we ALL love back to us as soon as they reasonably can.
Gaile, I hope to god you're reading this post. I thank you, and I thank the entire dev team, and anybody else who has worked on this accident. I really do appreciate EVERYTHING that is done for us; all the updates, all the communication, all the concern. It makes me feel more valued as a player than I can describe, and I thank ANet for that.

Well in regards to what we can do... not much.
We already bought the game, there is no monthly fee, so not continuing to play just frees up the bandwidth, A-Net isn't losing there.
If you feel so wronged, the only thing you can do to "punish" A-Net is to not purchase Factions. Beyond that there is little to do.
I was not online during the reset, so I am going to keep right on playing, regardless of the "oopsy." I am fairly indifferent on the reset, in some ways good (not everyone has 1,000 shards, rubies, and sapphires).
